GABLE: THE WELL DRESSED MAN

Clark Gable

Clark Gable was a well dressed man in real life as well as on the screen even though he liked hunting, fishing and casual clothing. He had learned the value of a good wardrobe from his early days as a struggling actor. Gable came close to rivaling Cary Grant in the fashion department. Grant was a friend of Gable's and both men had the same height and frame and would exchange clothing if they didn't like a particular item they received for Christmas, and they both had the same initials, CG. Overall, Gable had a strong influence on men's fashions of the 20th Century.
